The other day I was crunching numbers, trying to figure out how to make it to the end of the month. My girls know we don't have any money. They know we can't afford the basics, and that I'm pretty stressed. It is impossible to live in my house and not know that. My daughter hasn't been herself for the past few weeks. She could be doing absolutely nothing, but if her dad calls, she says she doesn't want to talk because she's busy. I've tried to talk to her about it several times, but she won't tell me why she won't talk to him. The other day she finally opened up a bit and said that he grosses her out and also that she's mad at him because he won't pay child support.
Child support isn't something I talk about with my girls. I don't want their opinions of their dads to be tainted by whether or not they pay child support. I guess my daughter's dad learned the lesson the hard way because she asked him if he paid child support. He told her that he didn't and gave her some bogus excuse about why he doesn't pay. That was the last time she spoke to him. So, when my daughter told me about this, I gave her a big hug and said that I don't want her to worry about things like child support, food, or our bills being paid because our Heavenly Father always takes care of us and never misses a child support payment. I'm not kidding, at that moment, a lightbulb went on in my head and a great sense of peace washed over me because there is so much truth in that statement. If God is my Father, why do I keep worrying about providing for my family. He hasn't yet let me down. His child support payments are always up to date.
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:19
